Anthony P. Howard hosts the first HR Offline community event with speaker coach Emem Washington on Tuesday November 10 2026 at 7 PM ET on Zoom

Atlanta, United States, October 19, 2026 /PressCable/ -- HR professionals looking for practical guidance on executive communication and influence can now register for Speak Like A Leader: For HR Professionals, a free live virtual event scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM ET on Zoom. The event is the first for the HR Offline community and is sponsored by HR Certified.

The session is hosted by Anthony P. Howard, Founder and CEO of HR Certified, and features Emem Washington, JD, LL.M., an executive communication and TEDx coach. It is designed for HR professionals who want to strengthen how ideas, recommendations, and business impact are presented to organizational leaders.

What the event covers

Speak Like A Leader focuses on three areas:

Communicate with clarity. Articulate ideas, recommendations, and business impact with confidence.

Command influence. Speak in a way that earns credibility and moves leaders to action.

Lead with voice. Position as a strategic business partner whose perspective shapes decisions.

Attendees will learn how to frame expertise in terms leaders respond to, connect workforce decisions to cost, risk, productivity, and growth, and build the executive presence needed to contribute at the leadership table.

Why the event was created

As automation takes on more of the transactional work in human resources, communication, judgment, and the ability to influence business decisions are becoming central to the HR role. Howard created the event to give HR professionals a direct, no-cost way to build those skills.

“Comfortable is the most dangerous place to be for an HR professional,” said Howard. “A voice, and the way it is used, is more important than ever.”

Howard has spent 26 years in human resources. He began his career as a file clerk in 1997 and moved into his first HR role in 2000. He holds the SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications and is the author of the forthcoming memoir The Thousand Cuts. He also publishes the LinkedIn newsletter HR Is NOT HR Everywhere.

China dad handed 3-year race ban after dragging rope-tied son around marathon

A marathon runner in China who dragged a nine-year-old boy around a half-marathon using a rope has been handed a three-year ban and had his result erased. Video clips of the child with a rope around his waist struggling to keep up as the pair competed in the Zhengzhou Marathon in Henan province have gone viral, and sparked intense debate online. While some social media users expressed surprise at the boy’s endurance, most condemned the incident, which is believed to have involved a father and...

Andrea Atzeni optimistic Crimson Flash will relish rise in trip in Group Two Premier Bowl

Andrea Atzeni is confident the rise to 1,200m will suit Crimson Flash when the classy sprinter chases a career-best victory in Sunday’s Group Two Lukfook Jewellery Premier Bowl at Sha Tin. After recording four wins in a strong second campaign in Hong Kong, Crimson Flash was sent off the $5.6 third favourite in his return but found the 1,000m too sharp when fifth to Colourful King in the Group Three National Day Cup. Atzeni said the Mark Newnham-trained gelding also didn’t appreciate being...

Wales, Australia, managing David Silva all part of Sha Tin coach’s rich tapestry

Tom Ballantyne was playing a pre-season friendly for Welsh club Monmouth Town when he “got clattered” and sustained a tibia plateau fracture. “I broke my knee joint, essentially,” Ballantyne said. “I never played again”. So began a life investment in coaching that would see Ballantyne stacking supermarket shelves overnight, then spending long days on the grass. He has been employed by Cardiff City and Aston Villa, and managed in three of Australia’s six states. The Englishman was the man Jim...

Milicic also recently took China to fourth place at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan after losing 2-0 to North Korea in the semi-finals. “After...
