Winnipeg, Canada, October 28, 2026 -- FarmPages Adds 24 Province-by-Category Supplier Pages to Help Prairie and Ontario Farmers Find Dealers and Builders Closer to Home
The agri-business directory has published 24 supplier pages organized by province and category for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, plus 8 local guides, so producers can weigh distance, parts and service before the first call.

Winnipeg, Canada — FarmPages, the agricultural supplier directory that grew out of The Book, a print directory serving farmers since 1978, has published 24 province-by-category supplier pages for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, along with 8 local supplier guides on its blog. A producer can now start with two plain questions, which province and what kind of equipment, and land on a page written for buying in that part of the country.
The categories follow the jobs producers tend to look up when work is coming. Livestock equipment, seeding and tillage equipment, harvesting and hay equipment, farm building suppliers, and tractor and farm equipment parts suppliers each have a page for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Precision farming and GPS dealers, farm tire and track dealers, and grain system suppliers have pages for Alberta and Saskatchewan. Manitoba also has pages for grain handling equipment and farm transportation equipment, and Ontario has one for dairy equipment suppliers.
Each page explains what to look for in that type of supplier, gives a quote checklist and includes a short FAQ. Many also carry a table of the suppliers FarmPages lists in that province, by town, each linked to its full listing. The page for livestock equipment suppliers in Manitoba names 15, from Brandon and Neepawa to Morden, Winkler and Whitemouth. It weighs a local builder who can alter bar spacing and do repairs at the shop against a multi-line dealer who can quote a complete system, and it warns that mud can be as much trouble as cold.
Why Distance Matters at Buying Time
According to FarmPages, sorting suppliers by province comes down to how farms actually buy. A good price is worth less if the nearest shop that can fix the machine is half a day away when a part fails mid-seeding. Service distance, parts on a nearby shelf, delivery and set-up, and whether anyone answers the phone during a short harvest window all depend on where a supplier is based. The company says a province-level page shows that distance before the first call.
Spring delivery is a case in point. Manitoba's Spring Road Restrictions program lowers allowable axle weights on designated paved roads during the thaw, from as early as March 1 into late May or early June depending on the zone. The Manitoba livestock page notes that the restrictions and soft yard sites can delay heavy deliveries in March and April, and advises ordering panels, chutes and shelters in the fall or early winter. Most Manitoba cow-calf operations calve between January and March, according to the provincial agriculture department, so a chute ordered once the snow starts to go can arrive after the calves do.
The page for seeding and tillage equipment suppliers in Alberta lists 11 suppliers, from Coaldale, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat in the south to Camrose, Lacombe and Edmonton further north. It starts with matching openers and points to the ground, since brown, black, grey-wooded and stony soils wear parts at different rates, then turns to residue, from heavy cereal straw in central Alberta to light dryland stubble in the south. It suggests counting worn points after fall work and ordering by January or February, before stock runs low. On dry southern soils, it cautions, an extra tillage pass can lose more in moisture and wind erosion than it gains.
The page for grain system suppliers in Saskatchewan covers bins, augers, dryers, aeration and monitoring. A short harvest window and long hauls from field to yard put a premium on capacity and drying speed, and grain often comes off tough in a wet fall in the Parkland and the northeast, so the page suggests sizing dryers and aeration for a bad year. Its checklist asks producers to confirm that quotes include freight, concrete, electrical work and installation, not the bin price alone, and to compare two or three. With long lead times on bins and dryers, it recommends shortlisting suppliers early rather than in September.
How Producers Use the Pages
The intended use is plain. A producer picks the province and category, reads the guidance and works down to a shortlist, using the checklist to keep quotes comparable. FarmPages does not sell equipment, set prices or rate the businesses it lists. Producers contact suppliers directly, and the pages advise confirming current products, service areas and availability with each business before ordering.
The 8 local guides on the FarmPages blog apply the same thinking to specific jobs. They include guides to grain dryer dealers across the Prairies, farm equipment repair shops in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and precision farming and GPS dealers across the Prairies, written for the moment a producer needs a specific kind of help nearby, such as a dryer technician before the crop comes off.
The new pages sit alongside the wider directory of 472 supplier listings and 81 category pages, each with buyer-focused copy and a visible FAQ. Those category pages remain the way to search suppliers outside these four provinces.
What It Means for Listed Suppliers
For suppliers, the pages put a listing in front of producers already searching in their province and line of work. A welding shop in Neepawa or a manufacturer in Coaldale now appears beside the guidance a buyer is reading, rather than deep in a national list. FarmPages says this helps smaller regional businesses most, since many build or repair equipment for farms within driving distance of their shop.
The print edition of The Book is still updated and distributed every year, with a reported total circulation of more than 150,000 across Canada and the U.S. northern plains. Suppliers who want to reach farmers in their own area can add their business to the directory.

China’s top swimmers have returned to the pool following their dominant Asian Games display and once again put their competitors on notice with strong performances at the national championships. Li Bingjie reclaimed the women’s 1,500m freestyle short-course Asian record in style, clocking 15 minutes and 34.09 seconds to win gold on Monday. The 24-year-old shaved 4.32 seconds off the previous Asian mark of 15:38.41, set by Singapore’s Gan Ching Hwee just 11 days earlier. Li had held the record...
French football superstar Kylian Mbappe has issued an apology after an “ill-judged” comment about China sparked intense backlash on social media and led a string of major Chinese brands to cut ties with him. After a video began circulating widely online that appeared to show the France and Real Madrid striker making a controversial remark about former Chinese leader Mao Zedong, several Chinese firms including the dairy giant Mengniu announced they were pulling out of deals with him on...
Leading men’s doubles players have called on the ATP Tour to reconsider plans that would reduce the size of the doubles competitions at events and move prize money to the singles format. In a letter addressed to the ATP board and management and signed by 137 active players, 33 former players and 20 federations, the group said it understood the need for reform, but was deeply concerned about the plans being discussed. The ATP said this month it was reviewing potential changes to the size of...
Harry Kane is targeting Champions League glory for Bayern Munich and ending England’s wait for a major international tournament after lifting the Ballon d’Or in the highlight of his career to date on Monday. In his native London, Kane became the first English winner of the award in 25 years as he beat off competition from Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to be crowned the world’s best player. The 33-year-old was rewarded for a remarkable 73 goals in 65 games for club and country last season as he...
A new race blending urban and countryside views across Hong Kong will take place on Sunday, featuring the newly opened Fanling Bypass as the finish line for the full-marathon route. Hong Kong’s athletes were praised for producing “a beautiful harvest of medals” at this year’s Asian Games, and the success of the delegation’s younger members bode well for the future, the city’s leader said on Monday. A first tennis, a rugby sevens three-peat, combined with success on the water, in the pool, and on the squash court all led to a historic tally of 54 medals and a record number of gold over a fortnight in Japan. While the rise of the city’s younger athletes was in many ways a...
England captain Harry Kane is the favourite to win a wide-open race to be crowned Ballon d’Or winner at a glitzy London ceremony on Monday, with Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe also in the running to be named the world’s best footballer. The 70th edition of the award, established by the magazine France Football, will be hosted in England for the first time in recognition of the first winner, Stanley Matthews, and fittingly could have a first English winner for 25 years. Bayern Munich striker Kane...
A decline in local turnover might have given Jockey Club boss Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges cause for concern to start the season, but a surge in wagering on overseas races has helped boost total turnover to a healthy figure. After 13 of 88 local meetings, total turnover on local and overseas races was up 12.5 per cent on last year to HK$24.8 billion. In his CEO blog published on the Jockey Club website before Sunday’s Sha Tin meeting, Engelbrecht-Bresges said wagering on Hong Kong racing was...
Asia’s answer to NCAA basketball has taken another big step forwards, with 18 universities weeks away from the start of a two-conference season. The teams involved in the Asian University Basketball League will play between November and April, with a championship week, similar to the sweet 16 or final four, pencilled in for next August. A 12-strong Eastern Conference and six-team Southern Conference will compete in a total of 54 games, with universities from 11 different places across the region...
Bustling City was one of two shock beaten favourites for David Hayes on one weekend, but the Australian Hall of Fame trainer is adamant the horse he declared “could be the new dirt king in Hong Kong” will bounce back on Wednesday night. Adding to the pain of Ka Ying Rising’s narrow The Everest (1,200m) defeat at Randwick on October 17, Bustling City was sent off the $1.4 favourite the following day at Sha Tin but couldn’t back up his explosive seven-length victory on his seasonal return. After...
Jordan Football Association president Prince Ali bin Hussein accused Fifa leader Gianni Infantino on Sunday of hijacking the Asian Football Confederation Congress for political purposes ahead of his re-election bid for a fourth term. At the AFC’s extraordinary congress in Tokyo on Friday, its president, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, endorsed Infantino’s bid for re-election as Fifa president. Months after the confederation accused Infantino of a “fundamental breach of trust” over the...
The list of Link Hong Kong Open winners has always read like an honour roll of golf’s great and good; on Sunday John Catlin added his name to that illustrious grouping and it might be that’s what finally broke through his steely exterior. Sitting with the trophy long after the crowds had gone home, Catlin read off the names of Greg Norman, Tom Watson, Rory McIlroy, Miguel Angel Jimenez and the rest, with the kind of dawning realisation that follows any major achievement. And while Tom McKibbin’s...
