Pregis Launches Sharp InfinX: On-Demand Rightsized Mailing System Delivering a Precision-Sized Mailer for Every Order

Oct 7, 2026

CHICAGO - Oct. 7, 2026 - PRLog -- Pregis®, a global supplier of protective packaging, mailing and bagging solutions and flexible packaging, launches the Pregis Sharp® InfinX rightsized mailing system, an on-demand packaging platform that produces more precisely sized mailers for each order. This rightsizing on-demand solution is a strategic expansion of the Pregis Sharp portfolio of automated mailing & bagging solutions, designed for customers with variable SKU mix looking to accelerate throughput while reducing packaging material consumption.

For businesses shipping a diverse mix of products, selecting the right packaging is an ongoing operational challenge. Third-party logistics providers and retailers managing highly varied SKU mix such as beauty, wellness, home goods, electronics and pet products must balance product protection, fulfillment efficiency and cost while ensuring each shipment is matched with the appropriate packaging solution.

Manual packing lines and single-format automation force a tradeoff between over-packaging to cover every product size and carrying inventory of multiple packaging sizes that occupy valuable warehouse space. Either way, the cost shows up as wasted material, added labor, unnecessary freight and, in some instances, extended producer responsibility (EPR) fees.

The Sharp InfinX systems run machinable-grade versions of Pregis EverTec® and Pregis Poly Lite materials, extending two established Pregis mailer portfolios into rightsized fulfillment. With paper, poly and cushioned formats available operations can choose the option that best aligns with their performance, cost and sustainability objectives.

The system has been engineered to integrate into existing packing lines or anchor a new automation buildout. Its compact vertical footprint streamlines installation and Pregis provides on-site integration support throughout implementation.

Recipe-driven changeovers through the machine's control interface switch between materials without manual tooling, adapting the system across facility types, from established fulfillment centers to new or space-constrained operations. Because every mailer is built to fit the product, customers can benefit from lower total cost of ownership across material use, labor touches and freight with the InfinX solution.

"InfinX is an emerging platform we're building within the Sharp systems portfolio that pairs automation with advanced materials that are fit for purpose," said Tom Wetsch, Chief Innovation Officer at Pregis. "Our mission is to help companies achieve optimal performance, backed by a strong integrated services model that delivers for today's heightened expectations for operational excellence and customer experience. High-volume fulfillment companies rely on partners with expertise across every variable, from inbound goods and orders to outbound key performance indicators. That partnership is what has made Pregis a trusted brand in on-demand packaging systems."

Pregis installations follow a consultative process, from full line review through testing, validation and installation, backed by national service and support to maximize uptime and throughput. Pregis Sharp InfinX extends that model to end-to-end line integration.

"We were finding that more and more fulfillment operations are struggling to balance rising order volumes, broader SKU assortments and increasing pressure to control operational costs," said Rachell Slovik, New Product Development Director at Pregis. "InfinX is engineered to address those challenges by creating the exact sized mailers for every order. Drawing on expertise from across Pregis in mechatronics, material science and packaging operations, our team is developing solutions that reduce material consumption and waste, minimizes manual touches and lowers total operating costs."

Pregis will provide live demonstrations of the Pregis Sharp InfinX at Pack Expo International 2026, Oct. 18-21 at McCormick Place in Chicago, booth S-3874, where the new packaging machinery will run alongside the Sharp Lynx automated bagging system. Packaging decision-makers can schedule a demonstration at www.pregis.com/pack-expo.

Villa keeper Suzuki eyes Asian Cup atonement after ‘very bad’ display in 2024 defeat

Aston Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki said he is confident Japan can win next year’s Asian Cup and thinks his “very bad” performances were responsible for their quarter-final exit two years ago. Suzuki, who has impressed in the Premier League since joining Villa in the summer, made a string of mistakes at the 2024 Asian Cup in Qatar as Japan were bundled out in the last eight by Iran. But he believes he is a better player this time around and backed Japan to end their 16-year wait for the...

Ka Ying Rising trials ‘better than last year’ in key test ahead of The Everest defence

David Hayes was happy to give Ka Ying Rising a “pass mark” after his “ambling” barrier trial at Randwick on Tuesday morning ahead of his defence of his Group One The Everest (1,200m) crown on October 17. The world’s highest-rated galloper drew a legion of supporters to the Sydney track for the 1,000m hit out and he was given an easy time of things to finish second behind Ninja in a time of 59.46 seconds. Zac Purton always had a double fistful on the David Hayes-trained star sprinter and never...

Proposed Asian football reforms threaten to kill Hong Kong’s World Cup hopes

As Hong Kong bathed in the afterglow of their Fifa Asean Challenge Cup triumph on Saturday, the level-headed Sun Ming-him cautioned that World Cup qualification remained a pipe dream for Roberto Losada’s team. What Sun, one of Hong Kong’s best players, did not know as he spoke was that despite the World Cup swelling to 48 teams this year, and another 16 potentially joining mammoth future editions, the city side’s qualifying task could soon become all but impossible. It has been reported that on...

Nichola Yuen’s rapid start could threaten a record few thought would be broken

We are only 78 races and eight meetings into the 2026-27 season, but there are already signs that Nichola Yuen Hang-yiu could threaten a record that most thought would never be broken. Back in 2020-21, Jerry Chau Chun-lok posted the most wins by an apprentice in a single season, slamming home 58 winners at a strike rate of 12 per cent. Before that remarkable season, the record was held by Matthew Chadwick, who recorded 43 wins back in 2008-09, which shows just how imperious Chau was that...

Formula 1’s governing body has promised a full investigation into a software bug that caused chaos and forced the start of Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia to be aborted with drivers feeling like they were in battery-powered cars made of Lego. Ferrari’s seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull’s four-time champion and eventual race winner Max Verstappen were among several affected by the glitch on a formation lap after ‌torrential rain and a long delay at Malaysia’s steamy...

China’s record-breaking Asian Games spark introspection despite dominance ahead of Olympics

Midway through the Asian Games, China’s sports minister felt the need to issue a rallying cry despite the country again overwhelmingly dominating proceedings. A week into competition, the delegation had already racked up 125 gold medals, won more swimming titles than ever before and were so far clear of the rest that one American press outlet half-jokingly suggested changing the name to the China Games. In the final reckoning on Sunday, China’s tally was as follows: 169 gold, 89 silver and 83...

A noted fast beginner in his campaigns, including in 2023-24 when he finished runner-up in the championship, Ng has struck early with nine wins from the first eight meetings to sit one ahead of Cody Mo Wai-kit and Manfred Man Ka-leung. The 43-year-old has high hopes for his Valley squad...

IPL stars dominate India’s Hong Kong Cricket Sixes squad

The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is set for a “quantum leap forward” after headliners India announced a squad for this year’s tournament composed almost exclusively of players who competed in the 2026 Indian Premier League. Despite logistical problems, world records prove Asian Games were a hit, says top official

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said that a near 20 per cent jump in revenue, strong viewership figures and a slew of world records proved the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games were a success, despite logistical problems plaguing the multi-sport showpiece. The Games saw a catalogue of mishaps, from athletes bused to the wrong venues to the North Korean national anthem being played for the South Korean hockey team. There were not enough beds for the more than 17,000 athletes and officials, a larger...

The Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya close on Sunday, bringing the curtain down on a fortnight of competition featuring some record-breaking performances. Among the best performers were the two athletes named Asian Games MVPs: 13-year-old Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi and Thai track and field sprinter Boonson Puripol. Yu, who won all three of her individual events with ease, said “I’m no prodigy” after being named the women’s MVP on Sunday. The schoolgirl, who looks poised to take the Los Angeles 2028...
