When it Comes to Healthcare, One Size Never Fits All – Dr. Raju Mantena

According to a Houston area anaesthesiologist and pain specialist, when it comes to healthcare, one size never fits all.

Houston, Texas, United States - January 8, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

According to Houston area pain management expert, Dr. Raju Mantena, modern medicine should focus more on treating the individual, and less on treating specific symptoms.

Many diets are focused on this concept – one size never fits all – such as the blood type diet and the nutritional typing diet, to name a couple. The theory is that each blood type has different requirements for optimal health, as does each different metabolic type. It’s impossible to prescribe the same diet to someone with a sluggish metabolism as you would someone who metabolizes food quickly.

Even entire healthcare modalities, like Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, focus on the uniqueness of each of us. For instance, in Ayurveda, there are three distinct body types which all foundational concepts are built upon. In other words, proper health maintenance begins by first addressing our biological uniqueness.

“No one treatment method works for all people,” says Dr. Raju Mantena. “We all respond to treatment differently because we are all biologically different, even if only slightly. But slightly makes a big difference when treating a patient.”

According to Dr. Raju Mantena, when you treat a symptom rather than a patient, you’re limiting their ability to improve their health and overcome whatever ailment they’re dealing with. Which is why he takes a more open-minded approach when it comes to treatment options.

“Treatment is based on several factors,” says Dr. Raju Mantena, “including the results of a physical exam, the patient’s medical history, imaging studies, and more. The number of treatments is also unique to everyone, as some people respond to treatment better than others.”

The bottom line, says Dr. Raju Mantena, is that a cookie-cutter approach to healthcare is a huge mistake. And that mistake is resulting in a lot of perpetually sick patients who are dependent on medication.

“Our goal at 360 Pain Treatment,” says Dr. Raju Mantena, “is to decrease pain, restore function, and decrease dependence on powerful medications. And that always begins by first understanding the uniqueness of each patient.”

Drive and survive: metal plates, mental scars not enough to derail teen’s F1 dream

Seira Kojima does not remember the karting crash that left her with metal plates and screws in places they have no business being in a 15-year-old girl, but she can describe it pretty well. She has seen video of her “rear tyre getting bumped” and the vehicle spinning through the air, and has the scars to back up the resulting injuries, which included a fracture of her right scapula, and a broken collarbone. The terrifying incident at the All Japan Kart Championship in April, which left her in an...

Opposition leader Kemi Badenoch had urged him to publish “everything” related to his work with the club as Greater Manchester mayor. City have been found guilty of breaching Premier League financial regulations between 2009 and 2018. The club maintained their innocence and...

Tears and a song as victorious Zheng Qinwen makes China Open history

Zheng Qinwen became the first home winner of the China Open on Sunday as she beat Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4, in front of a partisan crowd in Beijing. The former world No 4 and current Olympic champion was a wild-card entry, having struggled with form and fitness after elbow surgery in 2025. At one point this year she had dropped as low as 122nd in the world. It was the 54th-ranked Zheng’s first title in nearly two years, and her first ever at the WTA 1000 level, and tears filled...

With the National Tennis Centre in Beijing selling out, cinemas across the mainland have opted to show the...

How Manchester City could repeat Uefa victory and hit back at Premier League

Manchester City have a puncher’s chance of successfully contesting the ruling that they were guilty of all charges relating to flagrant breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules, but should their argument fall flat, the 10-time English champions can expect to be clobbered with swingeing penalties. Those are the views of Luca Ferrari and Daniel Gore, specialists in sports and litigation law, respectively, after City were found guilty by a three-person independent commission of 80 charges...

Resurgent home favourite Zheng Qinwen charges into China Open final with Mirra Andreeva

A resurgent Zheng Qinwen charged into the China Open final on Saturday, beating Elise Mertens 7-5, 6-2, and will play Mirra Andreeva for the title at her home tournament. It is another step in the Olympic gold medallist’s injury comeback, following a gritty showing at last month’s US Open, where she reached the quarter-finals. Zheng, a former world No 4, had struggled with her form since needing elbow surgery in 2025 and is a wild-card entry in Beijing. “I had a great performance tonight,” said...

Singapore not ideal for sprints, say Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton after chaotic race

Singapore’s Formula 1 circuit needs redesigning and lacks entertainment value for a sprint race, Saturday’s sprint winner Max Verstappen and runner-up Lewis Hamilton said after the 20-lap race involved little overtaking. Rain delayed the start of the inaugural sprint at the ‌Marina Bay Street Circuit, and with overtaking almost impossible, the only drama came in the form of collisions and a record nine retirements. “I think we shouldn’t host a sprint where you can’t pass,” Red Bull’s pole sitter...
